The NFL has announced replacement refs will be used for the first games of the season beginning Wednesday, September 6th when Dallas plays at the New York Giants. The regular NFL officials have been locked out since June and there has been no reported progress toward a new contract.
Replacement officials worked the first games of the 2001 season before a settlement was reached.
