The NFL and its players association jointly announced Thursday a $1 million donation to the Red Cross to help in relief efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. The league is encouraging others to chip in as well. The NFL says it will air promotional announcements during its game telecasts this week end, beginning Thursday night, encouraging people to help in the relief efforts in the aftermath of the storm.
