Federal Mediator George Cohen has offered his services in the NHL labor dispute and both sides have accepted the offer. It is not binding mediation and the NHL says there are no guarantees, but the first session reportedly is due Wednesday. The sides last met last Wednesday when the NHL rejected a players association proposal. Games through December 13th have been cancelled along with the all star weekend.
