Mateen Cleaves Hosts 'One Goal, One Passion' Basketball Camps

Former Michigan State basketball star, Mateen Cleaves is holding his 'One Goal, One Passion' summer basketball camp, Tuesday.

The first-time camp costs $1 for a registration fee and is aimed for kids, ages 8-17. The goal is for kids to get experience on the court from Cleaves and other Spartan greats, like Morris Peterson, Travis Walton and several others.

The camp also aims to teach life lessons.

"The basketball is just a draw in," said Cleaves. "I want to teach them about nutrition and learning how to take care of your body. [Also] setting goals and knowing what you want to be in life."

The camp goes through Thursday and will be held at Aim High Sports in the Summit Sports and Ice Complex in Lansing.
