Major League baseball's regular season began in Tokyo early Wednesday with the Seattle Mariners downing the Oakland A's, 3-1 in 11 innings. The Mariners' Ichiro Suzuki had fouor base hits to the delight of the Tokyo crowd. It's the first of a three game series. Other teams like the Detroit Tigers open next week. Detroit hosts Boston next Thursday to begin a three game series and the Tigers still have 7 players to cut to get down to 25 for opening day.
