Michigan State's hockey team arrived in Bridgeport, Connecticut Wednesday night and skated Thursday morning in preparation for its opening NCAA tournament game. The Spartans are a 4th seed in their region and face top seeded Union of New York. Face off is at 3pm Friday on ESPN U. MSU has a 19-15-4 season record and was the last team admitted to the 16-team field. Only A. J. Sturges on the MSU roster has played in the NCAA tournament and no Spartans have ever won a playoff game.
