MSU Wins NCAA Soccer Opener

Adam Montague scored eight minutes into the game and Michigan State went on to beat Cleveland State in the men's NCAA soccer tournament Thursday 2-1. The game was played at DeMartin Stadium. The Spartans have now won five in a row and head to Notre Dame, the top seed, for a second round game at 2pm Sunday. Notre Dame beat the Spartans 2-0 earlier in the regular season. Nick Wilson scored before halftime to give MSU a 2-0 lead. Cleveland State scored with 3:44 to play but couldn't get the equalizer. is happy to provide a forum for commenting and discussion.
