After losing nine seniors and captain Torey Krug to the NHL, Michigan State's hockey team is picked to finish no better than 6th or 7th in the CCHA this coming season. There are two polls-- media and coaches, taken every pre season. And that's where the Spartans are picked after a 19-16-4 record this last time out. There are at elast ten new MSU hockey players-- and how fast they progress will likely determine how the Spartans will fare.
Notre Dame and Michigan are picked in each poll to win the final league title before the CCHA disbands. MSU faces Windsor in an exhibition game at 7pm next Monday. The regular season opens Friday October 12th at Minnesota in the first of a two game series.
