Michigan State scored five times in the first inning Tuesday and went on to rout Western Michigan 10-1 at McLane Stadium. The Spartans ended a 3-game losing streak and improve to 18-11 on the season. MSU faces the Lansing Lugnuts in the Crosstown Showdown at 7:05pm Thursday at Cooley Law School Stadium before hosting Big Ten leader Indiana for three games beginning Friday at 3pm. Western falls to 11-20.
