The West Michigan Whitecaps closed out a four game series in Lansing with a 7-6 win over the Lugnuts Tuesday afternoon. The Whitecaps scored two in the 9th while Lansing scored one in the bottom half but it wasn't enough. Jim Leyland's son, Patrick, had the key hit in the 9th inning for the Whitecaps. Lansing blew an early 3-0 lead. The Lugnuts' 21-10 record is still the best in the Midwest League and the Lugnuts host Bowling Green for a 3-game home series beginning at 7:05 Wednesday night.
