The Detroit Lions chose Iowa offensive tackle Riley Reiff with their first round pick in the NFL draft Thursday night in New York. Wide receiver Calvin Johnson made the announcement to the audience. It was the 23rd pick over all at 10:10pm. The first round only is being conducted on Thursday. Rounds 2 and 3 will be made on Friday, 4-7 on Saturday. Reiff is 6-6, 315 pounds and the Lions need help in the offensive line to enhance their running game and protect quarterback Matt Stafford.
