Lions Lose Two More Players

The Detroit Lions signed three free agents Wednesday, then lost free agent defensive end Clif Avril to the Seattle Seahawks late. Thursday, the Lions announced the retirement of offensive tackle Jeff Backus after 12 seasons. Backus played at Michigan. And Lions' safety Louis Delmas, also a free agent, has signed a multi year deal with the San Francisco 49ers.
