Leinart to Start Against Lions

Matt Leinart's long wait is finally over. Thanks to injuries to the Buffalo Bills' top two quarterbacks, the 2004 Heisman Trophy winner has an opportunity to coontinue his career by competing for a backup spot in Buffalo. Signed Sunday, Leinart gets a one game tryout to prove himself Thursday night, when the Bills host the 2-1 Detroit Lions. Buffalo is also 2-1. Leinart is playing for his third NFL team in as many years. The Lions open the regular season at 1pm Sunday, September 8th at Ford Field against the MInnesota Vikings and a number of Lions regulars will not play in Buffalo to avoid injury.
