The cinderella season of first year Lansing United came to an end Sunday against the New York Red Bulls U-23 2-0 in Whippany, NJ.
Lansing came out with a ton of energy but missed on some great opportunities to score first.
It was in the 58th minute when the first goal was scored. Sean Sheridan scored off a corner to give his team a 1-0 lead. Twenty minutes later, Red Bulls Mike Innocenzi finished off a cross from Rhys Williiams past Zach Bennett for the second and final goal of the game.
Lansing United's loss in the semifinals is the furthest any Michigan team has advanced in the NPSL playoffs.
