Justin Verlander Signs Contract to Stay in Detroit

Justin Verlander and the Detroit Tigers have reached an agreement on a new contract that will keep him in Detroit for the next five years. He made his major-league debut on July 4, 2005 for the Detroit Tigers.

Justin Verlander made reference to his deal on Twitter, saying "I love this city & the fans -- couldn't be more excited to spend my career here! We're going to bring a World Series to Detroit!!!"
