Rookie orientation for the Indianapolis 500 will be held May 11-12. The four first time Indy drivers were originally scheduled to go through rookie orientation last week, but it was canceld because of the weather. Race officials have now opted to put the rookies on the track Saturday and Sunday of opening weekend. All drivers will be permitted to practice from noon to 2pm both days, with rookie orientation set for 2-4pm. The track will be reopened to all cars from 4-6pm each day. The rookies are AJ Allmendinger, Conor Daly, Carlos Munoz and Tristan Vautier. Qualifying for the May 26th race will be held May 18-19.
