Haslett Names New Head Coach

Haslett High School named Chris Smith as its new boys head basketball coach on Thursday. Smith, who lives in Holt, has been an assistant to Darren Zwick at Lansing Catholic. Smith replaces Rob Porritt who stepped down after 17 seasons. Smith met with his new team Thursday afternoon. Haslett was eliminated in the district tournament back in March but has a number of key young players returning next season. Haslett will compete as a class A school for the first time this next school year.
