Embattled Texas Tech men's basketball coach Billy Gillispie resigned Thursday night after just one season on the job and one Big 12 conference victory. The 52-year old Gillispie cites health concerns-- he has been at Mayo Clinic and has been ordered to stay away from stress for at least 30 days. But he has been under fire and investigation for alleged player mistreatment. Gillispie will be paid off $467,000. No interim coach has as yet been named.
