Four Notable Mid Michigan Players Make Open Field

The U. S. Open golf field of 156 players was determined Monday with eight 36-hole qualifiers across the country. Among those who made it-- former MSU varsity players Randy Hutchison of Traverse City and Matt Harmon of Grand Rapids. Jackson's Brian Stuard qualified and so did Mount Pleasant's Doug LaBelle. The Open begins at Merion near Philadelphia June 13th with Webb Simpson entered as defending champion. is happy to provide a forum for commenting and discussion.
