Down to Sweet 16 at Michigan Women's Amateur

Four mid Michigan players are among thed Sweet 16 still alive in the Michigan Women's Amateur Golf Championship, being played at Walnut Hills Golf Club in East Lansing. Opening matches Wednesday saw Michigan State players Liz Nagel and Christine Meier winning and they'll meet at 8am Thursday in a showdown. Lansing Catholic's Liz Nagel and Okemos' Elle Nichols are area high school players who also won opening matches. Two matches are scheduled Thursday to reduce the field to the semi finals and finals for Friday. is happy to provide a forum for commenting and discussion.
