Two weather delays caused first round play at the U. S. Open golf championship to spill over to Friday morning. The on course leader at the end of the day Thursday was Luke Donald at -4 through 13 holes. Phil Mickelson is the clubhouse leader at three under 67. Mickelson has never won and has been runner up five times. Tiger Woods has played 11 holes and is two over par. Former MSU player Randy Hutchison fired a first round 74 and former Spartan Matt Harmon has most of his round to play Friday.
