Delmon Young Has Contract Incentives

By  |

There are incentives in Delmon Young's one year contract with the Philadelphia Phillies. The former Detroit Tiger has a one year $750,000 deal. But six times in the coming season, at the Phillies discretion, he will be weighed. If he makes weight, he gets a $100,000 bonus each time. The first three times he must break 230 pounds and the last three 235 pounds. All incentives combined could pay Young an extra $2.75 million.
