Damon Cut By Indians

The Cleveland Indians, who open a three game series Friday night in Detroit, have cut former Tigers outfielder Johnny Damon. Damon played 64 games, hitting .222 with four home runs. Damon is 38 years old and has also played for Kansas City, Boston and the New York Yankees, before landing in Tampa Bay last year. He has 2,769 career hits but may not make the 3,000 milestone. Cleveland has tend ays to trade Damon or release him.
