Cubs Give up on Former Lugnuts Pitcher

The Chicago Cubs have given up on former All Star pitcher Carlos Marmol. He has been placed oan assignment. That means they have ten days to trade or release him or send him outright to the minor leagues if he clears waivers. Marmol pitched twice for the Lansing Lugnuts, in 2002 and 2004, when the Lugnuts were the Cubs' class A affiliate. is happy to provide a forum for commenting and discussion.
