Cabrera Suffers Bloody Face

Posted: Mon 5:19 PM, Mar 19, 2012

Detroit Tigers' slugger Miguel Cabrera was hit in the right side of the face below his eye Monday in a spring training game in Clearwater, Florida. The Philadelphia Phillies' Hunter Pence hit a wicked ground ball that caromed off Cabrera's face. He was tended to by trainers and left the field with a blood stained towel shielding much of his face. He was taken to a hospital for stitches and x rays. No further word on his condition. Cabrera is slated to be the Tigers' regular third baseman this season.
