Brother Rice H. S. Replaces Fracassa

Birmingham Brother Rice High School has promoted offensive coordinator Dave Sofran to head football coach. He has been on the staff at the school since 2000 and became offensive coordinator in 2011. Sofran replaces the legendary Al Fracassa who retired after this last season after 45 years on the job at age 81. Brother Rice has won five state titles since Sofran joined the football staff. He is currently director of admissions at the school. is happy to provide a forum for commenting and discussion. Please respect and abide by the house rules:
