Blue Jays Send Lawrie To Lugnuts For Thursday Game

The Lansing Lugnuts must win home games Thursday and Friday against the Fort Wayne Tin Caps to advance to round two of the Midwest League playoffs. Fort Wayne won game one at home Wednesday 5-2. The Lugnuts have the help of Toronto Blue Jays 3rd baseman Brett Lawrie who is on a rehab assignment. Lawrie was hitting .282 with nine moers and 40 RBI's when he suffered a strained oblique at Oakland in a game on August 3rd. Lawrie played in a rehab start at Dunedin, Florida Wednesday night and went oh for three with a walk. Game time Thursday is 7:05pm, same for Friday if a third game is needed in the series.
