EAST LANSING, Mich. - Sophomore Blaise Salter took home his second-career Big Ten Player of the Week honors and senior Andrew Waszak earned his third-career Big Ten Picher of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday afternoon.
Salter was hot at the plate all week, starting with an RBI and a 2-for-3 day at Notre Dame. In the weekend series against Purdue, Salter went 7-for-12 with four doubles, one home run and three RBIs.
In the first two games of the series Salter went 3-for-4. He hit three doubles, had a pair of RBIs and a pair of runs scored in the first game.
In game two, Salter homered to deep left-center field for his third of the season. On the weekend, he had a 1.167 slugging percentage.
