The Big Ten announced Tuesday it is suspending for one game a baseball player from both Purdue and Indiana. Both are publicly reprimanded as well. The punishment comes in the aftermath of a 9th inning brawl Saturday night in Columbus between the teams in the Big Ten championship game. Purdue's Eric Charles will miss his team's NCAA tournament opener Friday in Gary, Indiana against Valparaiso. Indiana's Casey Smith will miss the Hoosiers' opening game next season.
