Bielema Leaves Wisconsin For Arkansas

Posted: Tue 3:15 PM, Dec 04, 2012

Bret Bielema, who just coached Wisconsin to its third straight Rose Bowl berth, is leaving the Badgers to become head coach at Arkansas. Bielema's formal announcement is due shortly. Bielema was an assistant to Barry Alvarez when he was promoted. The Badgers are to face Stanford in the Rose Bowl New Year's Day. He replaces former Michigan State head coach John L. Smith at Arkansas. Purdue has been turned down by Cincinnati's Butch Jones and the Boilermakers may announce Kent State's Darrell Hazell on Wednesday. Jones is debating an offer from Colorado or possibly staying at Cincinnati.
