Beano Cook, a longtime college football historian, has died at the age of 81. Cook died in his sleep at his Pittsburgh home. He never married and was a part of the Pittsburgh sports scene for years and he lived there the final 74 years of his life. Cook was a regular with ESPN in a variety of college football roles for many years.
