Former Detroit Lions' star Alex Karras died Wednesday at his California home. He was 77 and was suffering from kidney failure. Karras played all 12 NFL seasons with the Detroit Lions after graduating from Iowa. He went on to star in several movies and was a host on ABC's Monday Night Football telecast. He wore number 71 with the solid Lions' teams of the early 1960s.
