The CCHA has announced a revised playoff format for next season which will involve all 11 league teams. Omaha has left for the WCHA and the new format resembles the Big Ten basketball tournament. The top five teams draw a first round bye. The bottom six play opening series, best of 3 at the highest seeded schools. The three survivors join the bye schools int the quarter-finals, again best of three series at the highest seeded schools. The four survivors, as usual, advance to Joe Louis Arena and the dates next season are March 18-19.
