One Big Ten Semi-Final Set
|
|
Ohio State's miracle finish sends the Buckeyes into Saturday's Big Ten tournament men's basketball semi-finals against Illinois a surprise quarter-final winner over Illinois in Indianapolis.
Ohio State's Evan Turner hit a 37-foot three pointer at the buzzer to save the Buckeyes, 69-68. Manny Harris had given Michigan a 68-66 lead with 2.2 seconds to play. Michigan likely ends its season 15-16.
Illinois nearly blew a 46-30 lead before holding on to beat Wisconsin 58-54. The Illini are now 19-13 and hoping the win helped its shaky NCAA tournament resume. Wisconsin is 23-8 and waiting for its NCAA assignment.
In quarter-final games Friday night, Purdue plays Northwestern and MIchigan State faces Minnesota and those two winners meet in Saturday's other semi-final with the title game set for 3:30pm Sunday.
