Tigers Lose to Yankees

The New York Yankees beat the Detroit Tigers 9-8 Wednesday afternoon in Lakeland, Florida. Former Tiger Curtis Granderson had singles in his first two at bats. Gerald Laird hit a grand slam home run for the Tigers who blew a 6-3 lead. Tigers newcomer Johnny Damon did not play because of a sore toe. The Tigers now have a 4-4 spring training record.
