Spartan Football TV Update: Kickoff Times Set For UAB, Pitt

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State's 2007 season and home opener, Sept. 1 vs. UAB, will be televised at noon EDT by ESPN2, according to TV selections jointly announced by the Big Ten Conference and the ABC/ESPN networks on Tuesday, June 12. It marks the first-ever meeting between the Spartans and UAB.

In addition, ESPN will televise Michigan State's Sept. 15 home game against Pittsburgh, with kickoff set for noon EDT. Pitt will be playing its first game in Spartan Stadium since 1958. Michigan State leads the all-time series 5-0-1, including a 38-23 victory in Pittsburgh last September as the Spartans amassed 335 yards on the ground. Javon Ringer paced the running game with 156 yards on 15 carries, while quarterback Drew Stanton rushed 13 times for 105 yards against the Panthers.

The Spartans enter the 2007 season with a streak of 50-consecutive live TV appearances (games televised regionally or nationally since November 2002).
