2007 Michigan State football signee Arthur Ray Jr., an offensive lineman from Mount Carmel High School in Chicago, Ill., “has been diagnosed with cancer and will undergo chemotherapy,” according to Spartan head football coach Mark Dantonio.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with Arthur as he faces this challenge. I also encourage all of our fans to pray for him. We’re hopeful that Arthur will be able to enroll at MSU for the fall semester. We look forward to his full recovery, and we expect him to resume his playing career in the near future.”
