TAMPA, Fla. (AP) -- Stan Heath wasn't unemployed for long.
Heath is the new coach at South Florida, replacing Robert McCullum. The Big East school said Monday that Heath will be formally introduced as the Bulls' new coach at a press conference Tuesday afternoon.
Heath was fired from Arkansas last week after five years at the school. He was 82-71 in five seasons with the Razorbacks. Arkansas finished this season with a 21-14 record, losing 77-60 to Southern California in the first round of the NCAA tournament.
South Florida assistant sports information director Scott Kuykendall declined to comment on the hire before the press conference.
McCullum was fired March 9. He went 40-76 in four seasons with the Bulls, who finished 12-18 this season.
After Heath led Kent State to the round of eight in the NCAA tournament in 2002, he took over at Arkansas that offseason after Nolan Richardson was fired. The Razorbacks missed the tournament his first three seasons but made it in 2006 and 2007, losing in the first round each time.
