East Lansing, Holt and Okemos Share CAAC-Division 1 Championship

East Lansing won thier first boys basketball league championship in 10 years as the Trojans beat Grand Ledge 40-35. Charles Woods lead the way with 14 points in a very defensive game. East Lansing didn't score a field goal in the 4th quarter, but their 6 free throws were still enough to clinch a share of the league championship.

Okemos jumped out to a 13 point lead after the first quarter and never looked back as the Chieftains routed Eastern 75-47. Senior Mike Kebler paced the Chieftians with 16 points. Ryan Erickson scored 12 and Denny Means contributed 11 as Okemos also claimed a piece of the CAAC-Division 1 crown.

Holt had to overcome a 4-point halftime deficit as the Rams outscored Jackson 23-to-11 in the third quarter. Senior Paul Crosby scored 24 points, Freshman Donlunto Jackson chipped in 13 and Matt Nayert score 12 points in the 65-56 victory that also clinched a share of the title for the Rams.
