DETROIT (AP) -- The Detroit Red Wings have signed free agent forward Ville Leino to a two-year deal.
The team did not disclose terms Monday.
The 25-year-old native of Savonlinna, Finland, appeared in 13 games for Detroit last season, posting five goals and four assists. Leino played in seven playoff games, notching two assists.
He spent most of last season playing with the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League, posting 15 goals and 31 assists in 57 regular-season games. He had three goals and 10 assists in 10 playoff games with the Griffins.
