A Detroit man who police say stalked and sent threatening e-mails to Michigan Coach Lloyd Carr will stay out of jail under a probationary order.

Tobi Akinmusuru entered a no contest plea yesterday to using a computer to commit a crime.

Prosecutors dropped more serious charges in exchange for the plea. A judge ordered Akinmusuru to stay away from campus and follow orders to take medications.

Akinmusuru was arrested by campus police in October after sending Carr and other coaches harassing and obscene e-mails.

Sentencing is set for next month in Ann Arbor.
