The Detroit Pistons have more salary cap room than most NBA teams these days and they struck quickly in the opening hours of the free agent signing period. The Pistons have landed Ben Gordon from Chicago for a reported five years, $55 million and Charlie Villanueva from the Milwaukee Bucks, five years $35 million. The Pistons are still looking for a head coach and Doug Collins and Avery Johnson are considered the two front runners. The Pistons may also now try to trade Rip Hamilton with the addition of Gordon. The deals cannot be announced until July 8th.
