Justin Verlander gave up a pair of two run homers to Jack Cust and Jason Giambi and the Detroit Tigers went on to lose in Oakland to the A's Wednesday afternoon, 5-1. The Tigers lost two of three in Houston on this trip and now lost two of three to the A's. They are off on Thursday and play the final three games of the trip at Minnesota beginning Friday night. The Tigers now have a 43-34 season record.
