Red Wings Lose Hossa to Chicago

The salary cap finally caught up with the Detroit Red Wings. They have lost two free agents to the rival Chicago Black Hawks from the NHL's Western Conference. Marian Hossa signed a 12-year $62 million deal and Tomas Kopecky, a center, is also leaving Detroit for a two year deal with Chicago. Hossa scored 40 goals to lead the Red Wings during the last regular season but did not score in the Stanley Cup finals against his former team, the Pittsburgh Penguins.
