Red Wings Opt Out of Joe Louis Arena Lease
Future Uncertain for Red Wings relative to an arena.

The Red Wings had until next Tuesday to notify the city of Detroit if they would exercise their option on another 20-year lease that would have automatically kicked into place-- but the Red Wings said Friday they will look to renegotiate their deal. They don't like the deal they have for Joe Louis Arena and want a better one-- while at the same time they will still explore options for possibly building a new arena down the road.
