MSU Athletic Director Ron Mason announced Wednesday afternoon that Head Football Coach John L. Smith will be leaving his job at the end of the season.
That means Smith will be coaching the remaining three games.
Smith has been under fire for a lackluster season with a record of four wins and five losses overall and one win and four losses in the Big Ten.
Smith has been head coach since December 2002.
