The 26-foot Spirit of Detroit statue outside the city and county offices downtown has a new look ahead of the World Series.
Friday, the landmark was dressed in an extra-extra-large Tigers jersey.
In recent years, the statue has worn jerseys of the Red Wings, the Pistons and the WNBA's Shock in celebration of championship victories or when the teams have made it to the playoffs.
The 2006 World Series against the Saint Louis Cardinals begins Saturday night at Comerica Park in Detroit.
