Better weather is expected through the remainder of the week and Michigan State's baseball team will be busy through Sunday. The Spartans, 11-21 on the season and 3-6 in the Big Ten, host Western Michigan at 3pm Wednesday at McLane Stadium. Thursday, the Spartans will pitch numerous hurlers against the Lansing Lugnuts in the third annual Crosstown Showdown. First pitch on Thirsty Thursday at Oldsmobile Park is 7:05 and the Lugnuts have won the first two games in the series. Friday, MSU hosts Michigan at 3pm, with a 1pm game Saturday in Ann Arbor and a final 1pm game Sunday at McLane. Michigan is 4-5 in Big Ten play. MSU head coach Jake Boss recruited many of the current Michigan players while he was an assistant coach in Ann Arbor.
