The Detroit Lions have signed free agent running back Maurice Morris. It's a three year, $7 million deal. Morris played last season for the Seattle Seahawks and he is considered injury prone. The Lions want him to back up Kevin Smith.
Morris has carried 604 times in his NFL career for a 4.3 yards per carry average but he has just five touchdowns over all that time. His longest career NFL run is 34 yards.
