FORMER SPARTAN SIGNS WITH NEW NFL TEAM

Chris Baker was a standout tight end at MSU from 1998-2001. He began with Nick Saban and left with Bobby Williams as his head coaches. The Saline native was known as "Chris Baker the touchdown maker."
Baker played the past seven seasons with the NFL's New York Jets. They released him and Friday he signed on, as a free agent, with the New England Patriots. It's a 5-year $14 million package.
Baker will now catch passes from a former Michigan star-- Pats' quarterback Tom Brady who was married Thursday to model Gisele Bundchen.
